Passion and Persistence

Greetings!

It has been one year since Auxano opened its door for business. Every time I look back, the same thought always come up:" what in the world you were thinking??"
2010 was filled with "crazy roller coaster ride". New client, excitement, disappointment, thick and thins, fear, more new client, anxiety, happiness, sadness, lots of coffee, and so on.

During the end of the year holiday, my, my wife, and the in laws did a short trip to Sumedang and Cirebon to visit relatives and do short culinary trip. Between turns, up and down hills, lush greeneries, paddy field, and occasionally stopped traffic, I think a lot about what I have done last year. I know...it sounds dangerous...thinking and driving...but it's better than drinking and driving...or texting and driving.

I realized Interior Architecture has always been in me. And the idea of having my own firm has been in the back of my mind for a while. A lot of times those thoughts were clouded by daily routines, jobs, and problems in life. My own impatience to accelerate my career and earning good money landed me to jobs outside my elements that lead me to frustration and dead ends. Fear of failure and too many "what ifs" does not help either. Long story short, with the remaining guts that I have left ( I used most of it when I decided to leave the United States, that is why I don't have much left). and here I am, one year later, with four people and modest clientele list, working out of my humble office space, doing what I love best.

I guess it is true when people say "if you make a career out of your hobby, you don't have to work for the rest of your live". I lost count on how many sleepless nights in the office we went thru and problems we had to overcome. Together with my staff, we stay focus and strong to keep our hopes high. Persistence pays and passion overrides all the problems and fear. My confidence is growing. I "fastened my seat belt" because I know 2011 is going to be a "bumpy rides". But I'm excited and optimistic to meet new clients and together we are going to make changes to shape Indonesia's retail design world and learning so many new things.

It begins to pay off. Auxano design started to roll during the last quarter of 2010. Thanks for all the support and encouragement from my loved ones, friends, and associates that 2011 is full of potentials to be discovered and opportunities to be explored. God, Andreas K, Robert and Gantini, Henry Mulyadi, Iwan Tumewa, David Susilo, Jo Astanto, all of my wonderful staffs, Indra Imawan, Christine Kartasasmita, Maharumi, Edi, Albert, Tony Sofyan, and last but not least: My wife. I can't thank them enough.

To Finish, I look forward to share more of the Auxano experience to all of you and wish you a great 2011.

My warmest regards,

Donny Victorianus
